Abstract
[Bedeian argues for the value of gradaute management students learning the history of management studies. Taking his title from a line written by historian of psychology E. G. Boring, he draws five lessons to be learned from studying a discipline's history: (1) avioding the pathetic fallacy, (2) being an informed consumer of recevied knowledge, (3) seeking original sources, (4) that facts are often wrong, and (5) the special advantage of the past. -cdg-]
