Abstract
Oswaldo Robles (1905-1969) was professor of philosophy and psychology at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) from 1936 to 1969. He studied medicine in the United States and later obtained the master’s and doctoral degrees in philosophy at UNAM, and the same degrees in psychology, also at UNAM. His activities within philosophy were basically addressed to study and spread the ideas of Saint Thomas Aquinas; within psychology, he wrote introductory texts and books in clinical psychology that earned him international reputation. Although Robles contributed in large measure to shape the Mexican psychology of the fifties and sixties, through his many students and diverse writings, his work has not been continued and his influence at present seems rather limited.
